Yet Gen6 Electronics only work with repsnapper as host software.
Repsnapper can be found here: http://www.mendel-parts.com/repsnapper/

Also there are sometimes some bugs if you are not working with Java 5.x , normally the actual version is 6.0+.

Windows XP do you already have in use.

Steppers check out ok with Gecko G203V drives.

Changed PSU for bench supply, no change.

OK will try Repsnapper. Can't see anything in any documentation to say it won't work with Reprap or that the later versions of Java can cause a problem!

afaik, gen6 works with fiveD, and it's pre-loaded. Reprap sw maybe doesn't work with fiveD

Got the axes working with Repsnapper, yet to try the heater, thermocouple, extruder or optos. It had previously looked just like a totally bricked bit of hardware

The high frequency whine is a real pain though

I'm not far off 50 and it's *really* loud

oops, only just noticed where I posted to .....I guess this thread should be moved to Electronics Support rather than Webshop Info!

yep, we know it has a high pitch sound.. one of the things we couldnt do anymore or we would have even more delay on batch1... But once the machine is printing its mostly gone.. so just print or turn it off.
ps. and i hardly notice it anymore..

ow and ps. for gen6 batch2 this high pitch sound will be removed btw.

If your electronics work with Repsnapper and not Host... It could be because you didn't hook up your hot-end...

Host I believe waits till you are at temperature before it will print... (not sure about this)

Also, most of reprap host/firmware combinations will not move the motors backwards with the end-stops disconnected.
