Post Generation 6 DIY build. Debug FTDI bridge issue.
I am having some issues with my DIY build of my Generation 6 electronics and thought I would post it to the forum for help from some fresh brains. I have hit a wall while attempting to upload the 5D code. So far, I have been able to flash the Sanguino bootloader however it seems that I am having issues with FTDI circuit. I have designed around the FT232RL in the past however, the current configuration for the FTDI bridge as it is implemented in the Gen 6 electronics is a typology that I am not familiar with. I can not achieve loopback and the serial monitor from the arduino IDE returns nothing upon query. My debug LED returns no response and remains bright regardless of the interaction. I am also trying to wrap my head around the configuration of the RX/TX data-lines from FTDI <-> atmega644P. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have the EEPROM contents been modified on the FTDI chip?

Just put your scope on the RX and TX lines and co0nnect to it via hyperterminal or so.

Did you install the ftdi drivers?

Thank you I'll give that a shot. Regarding the FTDI drivers they are installed and have been cleanly reinstalled. However I am working mainly off a mac and I'm not sure how well the OS manages the virtual com ports.
