I would like to start a topic about how people go about, once connecting the printer to their computer what the need to do to get it printing. For me I am still getting mine built as a wiring issue just burn't out a motor so waiting for replacment.

I'm still having problems getting round to starting up, spent 6 hours without internet trying all sorts to get computer and printer to talk. I was trying Repraps own software, skeinforge and red snapper, think might have done it with red snapper but wires smoked from incorrect wiring so not fully tested red snapper.

If someone could explain in simple terms not just for me but for future noobs what and why things need to happen then we'll have probably a lot more 3D printers up and running.
