Post Extruder speed at firmware ? (E)
i noticed that my extruder stepper was always running alot too fast so i couldn`t print with higher speeds because the wheel was just ripping of the filament.

The default value of the firmware (the big one zip) was 67 , so i changed it now to 15.

With which values are other people printing ?

i mostly use slic3r to generate the gcode files.

You need to calibrate your extruder steps specifically for your setup.

This is a good intro to doing it and how to get the best out of Slic3r. I was getting reasonable prints, but after following Rich's advice my prints are much better.

I already know this page but it didn`t helped me much (i think i`m jutst dumb when i see english+ maths  )

so i timed it until i saw that it was not running too fast anymore.

so i wanted to ask in which range are other people with v9 extruder are printing :?:

Chri,

do you only have that problem with slic3r ? I have an Orca .20 but this should be the same - you should start with the standard software-setup for the orca .30 (using skeinforge) as provided on the site. Use the slow-profile and give it a go; this should work ?

If this does not work there is a problem - if this works, start with slic3r; use the standard setting if you have 3 mm filament; if you have 1.75 mm filament; change filament (1.75), nozzle (.35) and layer (.24) (I do not have slic3r in front of me, so I am not sure that the terms (nozzle & layer) are the correct terms used in the program)

Give it a go and it should work. You should use the x, y, z & extruders steppings as provided in the firmware in the zip-file. Unless you have changed the gearing on your orca .30 ?

Hope this helps ?

Chris

i`ll try today afternoon.

i used skeinforge (sfact) only at the very beginning, because ist just deadly slow on my machine, where skeinforge needs 5 minuts , slic3r just makes the same job within 20 seconds.

i have 1.75mm filament, and the stock v9 with direct driven extruder.

i`m already printing with slic3er up to 150mm/s with 0,2mm layer and the other values corrected (sure i`m printing detailed objects slower, with 30 to 60 ^^)
,but very tiny objects won`t work with it so i have to use sfact again.

I now calibrated the Extruder to 68, now 100mm at pronterface are really 100mm filament.

But the problem its the same problem when printing parts.

can someone send me his sfact and slic3r configs, so i would have at least near values, but at the moment its only printing complete crap :(

:( mfg Chri
