Hi guys I am have some trouble printing. I build the printer myself but is based on a mendal. I am using repsnapper. I can move in all directions and go to home position.

The problem is when I manage to start printing the extruder does not move, the X, y, and z axis move like they would in printing but the extruder will not move. The extruder will extrude in the interactive mode but not while printing.

I have tried using skeinforge to create the gcode and also loading stl into repsnapper and converting into gcode I only get no printing or printing with no extruder movement.

It might be obvious what I am doing wrong be I am getting very frustrated. Any help would be appreciated.

You should post your electronics and your firmware, too. This would be helpful.

I am using gen6(batch 3) and firmware 20101216_0070_Mendel_Parts_TCST2103.
I tried the marlin firmware but it didn't seem to work because the axis's moved only in one direction in manual mode which seemed odd.

I don't think there is a problem with Marlin, there is a problem with repsnapper. My advice, and that is what the guys in the irc told me, use Marlin and printrun(pronterface with sfact).
Have you set your endstops. if not it will go only in one direction.

I will try ponterface and load marlin over the weekend and hopfully I will be printing by then.

I had exactly the same issue when i originally set mine up and changing to them solved it

So I loaded marlin and used Pronterface and is now printing after alot of frustration.
Must now calibrate it so it prints something other than a blog of plastic.
