I know I'm not doing something but not sure what. lol
I assumed everything in the firmware was set to just run but... (Also I know I have other things to tweak on this unit still.)
I don't know if I need to alter anything for running ABS vs PLA.
So I let it run even with flaws in it just to see what it would do.
At manual extrusion from the... printrun(?) for 5mm it advances the filament and I get plastic out of the nozzle. But when I run a print job nothing comes out of the extruder. Its like its not feeding fast enough.
Software: -Arduino -Printrun -Slic3r

You don`t have to change the FW between PLA and ABS. (same dimension provided) Even the PLA settings will work with ABS (not perfectly but it will build the part ^^) Which temperature at the hotend are you printing ?

Temp is set to 230, what the application suggested for ABS. It melts the plastic ok but its like its not advancing fast enough when its printing a part.

I would go higher with the temp On my orca v3 I print just PLA and I print @235 at the moment. With some PLA I can go a bit lower, but for most this is right in my setup. I also extrude at least 10mm to see if it is really flowing. Most times I have to push the extrude 2-3 times before it extrudes constant. But then it does for several hours without any issue

Do you use the correct FW-settings ? Do you have the v9 or v10 geared extruder ? If you use v9 settings with v10 geared extruder settings, you will not get a lot of plastic extruded !? If have an ORCA .20 & .42 (in progress); on my ORCA .20, I even use 245C° to print PLA !

I don't know if its v9 or v10. If v10 is what I seen in the pics of the .042 then I think I have the v9.
When I tap the extrude button it squirts out plastic at the 230 temp. I'll try to bump it to 250 which is what I seen for the ABS high range and try to tighten the tension on the filament and get back to you.

Guys, how tight have you got the springs on hte extrude feed? I've cut mine down to about half and I'm having issues finding a point where the extrude feeds constantly. It feeds a little but then the brass gear on the stepper just grinds against the filament without feeding any more.
I'm running a v9 extrude.

245 ° with pla is way to hot, what firmware are you using ? i also had to set high values with the old firmware, but atm i`m using Marlin 1.0.0 rc2 which works really nice on my v30.

Re: I know I'm not doing something but not sure what. lol
I am still using the Marlin v1.0.0.RC1 with gen 6 board - but I not 100% sure that when I set it to 245C° that it is really that hot; the extruder is 5 to 10 degrees colder.
I will install the RC2 firmware aswell.
thx,
Chris
