Post Print problems
Hi All
I am having a problem printing on My Prusa
I am using :
Mendel-Parts V5 3mm hot end
Wades geared extruder
Gen 6 Enlectronics With Marlin Firmware
Glass bed (not heated yet)
Skeinforge to generate G code
Pronterface to print with.
My problem is that my extrusions will not stick to the bed.
Can someone tell me what the distance between the tip of the hotend and the glass is sopposed to be.
and how to get the extrusion to stick to the glass.
Thanks in advance
Bob

It needs to be close.

I usually use a 0.1mm feeler gauge and adjust the bed so there is even clearance in each of the corners.

The extrusion WILL NOT stick to a non-heated glass bed. The temperature range is very fine for printing to a glass bed.

You're better off using painter's tape (blue masking tape) until you get the heated bed working.

The glass needs to be around 55-60 degrees celcius for the extruded plastic to stick; it also helps if the first layer is printed slowly, and a 5-ish degrees hotter than the other layers.
