Post Re: GEN6 bash 5 help
Which Fan shall been connected on the 2 pin Molex ? The Fan for the Hotend or the one for the Board itself ?
And where the other ?

There are 2 NTC in the bag, just a spare part or is it the NTC to mount in a (not drilled yet) hole in the printbed ?

@ all asking about the fans, you can put the fan on any 12v connection, they should be always on anyway.. Otherwise you can make a thermistor > fan configuration where the thermistor limits the fan speed (check google for wiring, possibly a transistor needed..)

... with the new Firmware (Marlin 1.0 RC) the Heatbed is working.

I was about to ask for which two pins are for the heater/thermistor, but that confirm me (I assumed it was like for the extruder-heater ntc/ntc/heat/heat from right to left).
Yet I cant' read a bed temp in Pronterface, in marlin 0.9.10B unofficial I saw that it miss a #define thermistorbed, but still not work... I'll try with the 1.0 RC, hope it'll work :)

hi emmanuel,
it should work with 0.9.10b and 1.0RC - check your thermistor is working - disconnect it form the board and measure the resistance (~100k at roomtemp)

Thanks for the reply.

I checked the thermistor and while the extruder's one show 100k, the other I put on the bed says 6.4k ... how it could be when it's already wired and seems well insulated (deep inside it's nut, like for the v10)

But still, my problem was that he don't event look for the bed thermistor. On the hotend it shows at least -20.00 when the thermistor is not plugged in or something; but for the bed nothing.
I just seen Camiel tweaked a version of Marlin 1.0 for the Orca-v040 in the download section (26feb), I'll try that ^^

.... ok 6.4k is to low and i think its broken, it should be 95-100k. A working thermistor change the value if you touch the heatbed. Camiels marlin 9.10b version had a undoc gcode command M302, put it in the comanndlline of pronterface the you can read the temperature from the heatbed thermistor. Heatbed control only exist with marlin 1.0 RC1
