Gen6 and new x-motor-bracket by Nils
Hi!
The Gen6 contains firmware for the default x-motor-bracket, however the one you are sending out in the reprap kit is the new and improved one, which requires X motor operations to be inversed.
The solution to this is rather simple: Changing line 181 of configuration.h of your 5D firmware to:
#define INVERT_X_DIR 0
Recompile and re-upload.
For those of you not familiar on how to do this, a small HOWTO:
1. Download Arduino+sanguino, conveniently packaged by Camiel at
http://www.mendel-parts.com/gen6_info.php2. Download the latest version of the gen6 firmware at
http://www.mendel-parts.com/firmware/GEN6/3. Unzip both
4. Stop any printer activity and also the host tools, repsnapper, etc
5. Start the Arduino UI by double-clicking Arduino.exe
6. Goto Tools -> Board, click Sanguino
7. Goto Tools -> Serial Port, select the port the Gen6 is on (with me its COM3)
8. Goto File -> Open, Select FiveD_GCode_Interpreter.pde in the firmware folder
9. Open configuration.h, edit line 181 to read:
#define INVERT_X_DIR 0
10. Goto Sketch -> Verify/Compile and verify the new fw is compiled correctly
11. Reset your gen6 board (press reset button) to ensure clean state
12. Goto File -> Upload to I/O board and verify the upload finishes succesfully
13. Reboot your gen6
14. Start the host tools /repsnapper
15. Rejoice
