Hi, i'm on windows 7 64 bit, and as far as i can tell that means i can't compile firmware? that seems to be what the wiki says anyway.

so, since i got all my mechanical parts from mendelparts, i figure there must be other people with near identical printers.

there are no aftermarket additions beyond 4 resistors on the bottom of the bed.

the kit was given to me for Christmas, although my father apparently bought it a good 2 months(?) before that.

so anybody happen to have a printer from roughly the same period? if i did my math right it wants a z step of about 235, and that's the only parameter that i desperately need changed from the default, it's printing about 1.3x too tall right now

you will need to upload the FM to your printer

2)win xp mode - win virtual pc might help you there (if you have pro/ult)
never used them so cant help you with the details

3)you can use something like www.virtualbox.org to run a 32bit os (like xp or Ubuntu, not sure about win7 though)

4)or a laptop/other computer?

have you downloaded the arduino-0018-incl_sanguino.zip and the latest ********_FiveD_GCode_Interpreter.zip from the mendel parts download page?

hmm, so i'm using the cygwin build now, but the link on http://reprap.org/wiki/CygwinBuild seems to be missing.

where else can i get this, or would it be in my windows pc already, in which case i can just drop it into the cygwin directory?

from the looks of it it's just the firmware directory, but i figure i should ask here first.

no idea on that cygwin, but the gen6 firmware is available from downloads in the mendel parts shop.
