Details
29-12-2011:Batch 5 (aka GEN6 deluxe) has a heated bed addon (control temp via pcb instead of via power supply), it also has an extra cooling fan connectoer etc. Its a completely newly redesigned PCB, more info / new pictures coming soon. But batch5 is in stock. now and will be included in complete machines.
24-06-2011: Pre-order started for new load of GEN6 / batch4, which will be shipped from wk29/wk30 (last two weeks of July)
Batch4 is similar to batch3 and 2, but batch4 also has a few new fixes/optimization (in hardware) which we will soon specify.
20-06-2011: GEN6 batch3 is sold out, but batch4 is already in production, scheduled arrival for batch4: wk 29 or wk 30 (end of July). We will start pre-order for batch4 very soon, probably in less then a week.
22-05-2011: we have updated/increased the GEN6 stock, (we double checked and added a few more sets). Also we are already busy with starting up batch4..
11-05-2011: GEN6 Electronics batch 3 (250pc) is in stock, but alot is sold already as pre-order and we need alot of electronics for mendel and orca full kits, so stock is already pretty low.
19-03-2011: GEN6 Electronics batch 2 (250pc) has been sold out already, we still have enough stock for the complete machines ordered so far, but GEN6 orders from today are pre-orders batch 3.
Batch 3 is scheduled to arrive: early May
12-03-2011: Price lowered from 149 to 139 euro
20-12-2010: Batch2 is scheduled to arrive in wk1 or wk2 2011. This batch2 gen6 is the same except the high pitchy sound (while not printing) has been reduced/removed.
04-10-2010: First part of GEN6 electronics shipped out and all necessary files are published on the RepRap wiki page.
This elecronics set includes:
- Assembled GEN6 all-in-one PCB including heatsinks
- Bootloader pre-installed
- firmware pre-installed
- Three opto's on cables incl molex connectors
(the pcb of the opto's is integrated, its just the opto on a cable with 5way molex connector)
The electronics are being produced here in The Netherlands.
Hardware Features:
- Single board solution
- 4x stepper motor drivers (DRV8811) with 1/8 microstepping
- on-board USB-RS232 convertor
- Integrated hardware for driving one extruder (stepper, heater and thermistor)
- RS485 bus connector with the possibility to link through the extruder step and dir signals (2nd extruder)
- Integrated hardware for driving H21LOB slotted optosensors
- High input voltage range: 12-24Vdc
- Use of standard connectors with easy and clean installation
- Debug leds for power, communication and heater output
- Reset button
Specifications:
- Dimensions 110x60mm
- Mounting grid: 100x50mm (4x M3)
- Input voltage 12-24Vdc
- On-board controller: ATmega 644 (Atmel Corp.)
- RS485 connector: RJ45
- Heat output: Mosfet output, 4A
- Thermistors input: 100K thermistor
For the power supply 50W should be enough, but 60W is recommended.
About the input voltage: 12-24Volts is possible, but the nichrome wire length needs to be changed also if input voltage is not 12V.
We now also have an extra option for our motor set to include molex connectors and correct cable lengths for GEN6.
